Erez Raphael

CEO/Chairman

Erez Raphael has over 20 years of systems and software development experience in various industries including mobile, life science, medical device, health IT, mHealth and digital health solutions.

Mr. Raphael has previously held executive and management positions in Product Management, technology, innovation, intellectual property, development and operations at Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), Nokia Siemense, RedB and other companies, with a proven track record in bringing new technologies and innovations to market.

Currently the CEO and Chairman of DarioHealth (NASDAQ:DRIO), Mr. Raphael is developing and commercializing the organization’s flagship product – the Dario Smart Diabetes Management Solution – an all-in-one glucose meter and application.

Mr. Raphael is driven and focused to developing innovate digital health solutions for people with chronic health conditions through mobile and digital technologies. In addition, as the CEO of publicly traded company, he holds extensive experience in capital markets including raising capital and investors relations.

Zvi Ben-David

CFO

25 years of financial and accounting experience, particularly with public and private medical device public companies.  Among his previous roles, he served as corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Given Imaging Ltd., a medical diagnostic company (formerly NASDAQ:GIVN), where he was a part of the founding team and also helped lead the company’s growth from a start up to a $65 million annual revenue commercial enterprise as well as its successful initial and follow-on public offerings.  Following his tenure at Given, Mr. Ben-David served as Chief Financial Officer of Ultrashape Medical Ltd., where he led the company through two major rounds of funding totally $35 million to an initial public offering on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and ultimately its acquisition by Syneron Medical in 2012.   Recently, Ben-David has been an independent medical device entrepreneur and investor.

Mr. Bacher has more than 15 years of software business experience, including managing positions in product development at both mobile and semi-conductor companies. He brings profound software product strategy knowledge and a proven track record of transforming vision into operating products.

Prior to joining DarioHealth, Mr. Bacher served in a leadership role at Amdocs Limited (NYSE : DOX) managing enterprise development programs for a variety of software products associated with BSS ,OSS and service delivery. Prior to Amdocs, he served in a senior role at Tower Semiconductor (NASDAQ : TSEM), in the CMOS image sensor division where he was responsible for high end as well as commodity product development.

With more than 20 years of channel sales, business development, strategy and leadership experience Mr. Levin leads the company’s global sales and commercialization efforts. Before joining DarioHealth, he held executive positions in the telecom industry at both Net2Phone (NASDAQ: NTOP) and IDT (NASDAQ: IDT), and managed global sales teams, channel partners and distribution networks in the EMEA and APAC regions for companies in the telecom, healthcare and financial services industries.

U.S. Senior Director and General Manager

Over 20 years of marketing, sales, strategy, and leadership experience in the healthcare industry including his most recent role as Senior Director and General Manager US for DarioHealth. Prior to his current role, he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility over 14 years at Bayer Healthcare, most recently as Director of Strategic Contracting for Bayer Diabetes Care. He began is healthcare career on the provider side with TriCare Medical Equipment. Mr. Joffrion holds a BBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University.

Hila Karah

Hila Karah is an independent business consultant and an investor in several high-tech, bio-tech and Internet companies.  From 2006 to 2013, she served as a partner and Chief Investment Officer of Eurotrust Ltd., a Family office.  From 2002-2005, she served as a research analyst at Perceptive Life Sciences Ltd., a New York-based hedge fund.  Prior to that, Ms. Karah served as research analyst at Oracle Partners Ltd., a health care-focused hedge fund.  Ms. Karah served as a director in several private and public companies including Intec Pharma, since 2009 and Cyren Ltd since 2008. Ms. Karah holds a BA in molecular and cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and studied at the University of California, Berkeley-University of California, San Francisco Joint Medical Program.

Professor Richard Stone

Prof. Stone brings over forty-five years of legal and business experience to DarioHealth as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, public company officer and director, and legal and corporate governance expert. He currently serves on the board of directors of multiple technology companies, including Powermat, Espro-Accoustiguide Group, Wellsense Technologies, NanoX Imaging and Check-Cap. Among his other public company experiences, Prof. Stone cofounded Lev Pharmaceuticals, Inc. which was sold to ViroPharma in 2008 for nearly $450 million in upfront consideration.

Prof. Stone is presently and has since 1974 served as a professor at Columbia Law School, specializing in tax law and business planning, and previously served as an Assistant Solicitor General of the United States. He also served as Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. He is a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School.

Dennis M. McGrath

Director

Mr. McGrath joined DarioHealth’s board of directors in November 2013. He currently serves as President, CFO and board director of PhotoMedex, Inc. (NasdaqGS: PHMD,) joining the company in 2000. He has earned honors as the 2012 SmartCEO Magazine CEO of the Year for Turnaround Companies as well as 2012 finalist for P.A.C.T. Investment Deal of the Year and 2013 finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Mr. McGrath has significant expertise in public and private fund raising, mergers and acquisitions, and manufacturing. He has held several senior-level positions in prior endeavors of public companies as well as the internet and e-commerce space, including AnswerThink Consulting Group, Think New Ideas, Inc. and triSpan, Inc. He is also currently a director of Noninvasive Medical Technologies, Inc. and serves on the Board of Advisors of Taylor University. Mr. McGrath graduated maxima cum laude with a B.S. in accounting from LaSalle University in 1979.

Colonel (IDF res.) Yalon Farhi

Colonel (IDF res.)Yalon Farhi became a director of DarioHealth as of June 1, 2016. Since 1998, Mr. Farhi has served as a motivational lecturer and educator at Bnei-David Institutions, (a pre- and post- army educational program in Israel). Mr. Farhi is a Colonel in the Israeli Defense Forces (res.). In addition, between the years 1998 to January 2016 Mr. Farhi was working for a Non-Government Organization (“El-Ami”) as an administrative manager, including the responsibility for raising funds in various geographies. Previously, Mr. Farhi was a security consultant to several security companies in Israel. Mr. Farhi is also a private business person for the last 30 years and during that period is the owner of a private company providing gardening and land development services in Israel. Mr. Farhi is a graduate in Education Studies and holds a Teaching Certificate from the Moreshet Yaacov College in Jerusalem. We believe Mr. Farhi is qualified to serve on our Board of Directors because of his business experience.

Dr. Malcolm Hoenlein

Since 1986, Dr. Hoenlein is the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the coordinating body on international and national concerns for 52 national American Jewish organizations. Dr. Hoenlein has a B.A. in Political Science from Temple University and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hoenlein has received two honoree doctorates. He is involved in several high tech and bio tech companies.

Allen Kamer

Director

Allen is a successful entrepreneur and experienced corporate executive in the healthcare and medical informatics space. He recently joined OurCrowd as a Managing Partner to launch its first sector fund focused exclusively on investments in digital health. Previously, Allen was a co-founder of Humedica, a transformative population health and analytics company which was sold to UnitedHealth (NYSE UNH – the largest U.S. health insurer) in 2013. Following the acquisition, Allen served as the Chief Commercial Officer of Optum Analytics (a division in Optum, UnitedHealth Group’s health services company). As the CCO, he led the group’s commercialization efforts of analytics software products and solutions, including the award-winning Optum OneTM, to U.S. provider and payer organizations. With nearly 25 years of experience in health care, Allen also was a director at leading healthcare investment bank, Leerink Swann (now Leerink Partners), and held management positions at Biogen. He began his career reporting on FDA and policy issues for The Pink Sheet, and received his BA from Brandeis University.

Clalit’s digital health platform became an international benchmark in vision, strategy and execution aspects, being used by over 2 million monthly users, who generate over 4 million monthly interactions. Following Clalit, Yossi founded Luminox, a strategic digital health consulting firm and startup hub that served the largest international pharma, healthcare providers and insurers companies. Yossi handpicked and seeded six successful digital health startups. These startups grew in aggregate value from single digit to hundreds of millions in the last 4 years, and were backed by leading VCs and corporate funds including Philips, Qualcomm Ventures, Orbimed, Walgreens, Fuson Pharma and Pitango.

Rami Yehudiha, is a marketing and advertising executive with a particular expertise in developing and implementing campaigns utilizing cutting edge technologies and methods. From 2004 to the present, he has served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of LEAD, a top ten Israeli advertising firm. From 1997 to 2003, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at Ogilvy One Israel, a part of the WPP Group. Mr. Yehudiha received his B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Tel Aviv University and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Manchester University.

Professor Itamar Raz, M.D

Scientific Advisory Board

Professor Raz is a world-renowned diabetes specialist. He is a professor of Internal Medicine at Hadassah University Medical Center and the head of the Diabetes Unit and Research Center at Hadassah. He also serves as the head of the Israel National Council of Diabetes and as a member of several international editorial boards.

Professor Raz has published extensively in the area of diabetes, with over 190 publications to his credit. As president of the Israel Diabetes Research Group, he collaborates with other diabetes specialists in Israel and worldwide, conducting clinical research aimed at improving the treatment of diabetic patients. He is also the president of D-Cure, a non-profit foundation involving diabetes research. Professor Raz is currently leading several international clinical studies involving prevention of Type 1 Diabetes and protection of kidneys and hearts of diabetics.

Robert G. Faissal

Mr. Robert G. Faissal is a Managing Partner of Lebita Consulting Services LLC, a Toronto based business development and investment group with emphasis on commercial relationships in North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Lebita Consulting focuses on healthcare, technology, finance, oil and gas and real estate. Mr Faissal was the Managing Partner of Richmond Development, an Abu Dhabi based multi-disciplinary investment group. From 1997 until 2000, Mr. Faissal served as the Managing Director/Middle East & Africa for the Philadelphia based Wharton Econometrics Forecasting Associates (WEFA Group, currently IHS Global Insight) advising various governments and private sector clients on economics and financial matters in the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Robert G. Faissal holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics & International Finance from McMaster University in Canada and an undergraduate Honors Degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

Erez Levy

Erez Levy is currently the General Manager of the Global Direct Conversion Detector at GE Healthcare, Israel. Mr. Levy brings with him 18 years of strong and diverse leadership experience in the field of medical device design, process engineering, manufacturing and supply chain. Born in Haifa, Israel, Mr. Levy graduated from the Technion Institute of Technology with a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering in Management in 1996. He then began working as Manufacturing Program Manager in the Missile Division of Rafael, Israel’s top developer of military technology. Mr. Levy began his career with GE Healthcare in 2000 as Material Site Manager in Haifa, Israel and received his Six Sigma Green Belt in 2001. In 2003, he became certified Lead Manufacturing Leader. In 2004 he relocated with his family to Cleveland, Ohio as an Operation Manger in GE Coils. Returning to Israel in 2006, he was appointed VCP Leader in Nuclear Medicine, engineering drive design for cost in NPI process.

 

During 2008-2010 Mr. Levy led the evaluation, due diligence and negotiation process of Orbotech acquisition by GE and became the integration manger after deal closing. In 2011 he was appointed as General Manager of Global Direct Conversion Detector, CZT solid-state Center of Excellence located in Rehovot, Israel. In his current role, Erez has full responsibility of technology, design, process development and operations excellence.  He drives innovation, quality management, product development initiatives, lead new technology market penetration and market share growth. Mr. Levy has completed his MBA studies at the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.

Dr. Peter Kash

Dr. Peter Kash is Executive Chairman of Time Flash. He was a co-founder and partner of Two River Group and President of Riverbank Capital Securities specializing in creating and financing biopharmaceutical companies. He has co-founded more than a dozen biotech companies and served on numerous boards  including  Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Velcera and Intercept Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Kash has worked on Wall Street for 30 years. From 1990-1992 he was an Associate Professor of Marketing at Polytechnic University.  During 1996-2000 he was an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Wharton Business School. During 2000-2002 he was a Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Business at Nihon University in Tokyo. He holds a BS in Management Science from SUNY Binghamton, MBA from Pace University and a Doctorate in Education from the Azrieli Graduate School of Yeshiva University. He is also an author of several books on business and healthcare.
